LaineBio:  Laine Discepoli has been painting for as long as she can remember.  After earning a marketing degree from Bentley College in Boston, she went on to enjoy a 15 year career in Advertising. However, her passion was truly in the arts and she spent free time experimenting with paint on walls and handmade crafts as MissElaineous "just for fun."  When the
fun showed promise of big business, she made it official in 2000 and never looked back on corporate life.  Laine and business partner/ husband John then fulfilled a life long dream of opening a studio in 2004. Her teaching theme would be considered "empowerment" and believes that with true passion - great art can be achieved (the skills and techniques can be learned!) Classes are informative and entertaining covering special interest finishes, business, product knowledge and more. MissElaineous is aProceed System and Modern Masters boutique offering a variety of tools for the discriminating finisher.

Laine uses her business savvy and marketing background as the power behind her artistic passion.  As a busy mother of 15 year old twins, she understands the struggle of balancing family and faux.  She speaks freely about tricks and tools of the trade that experience has taught her - from products to techniques to time management. She is down to earth, intensely creative and believes that "we create our own luck", as supported by her success. She built her business from the ground up and within only 5 years, replaced her corporate salary. In addition to her own studio, Laine has been an invited teacher at various decorative painting forums including the annual IDAL convention, at multiple IDAL chapters around the US, The Decorative Arts Show, Master Finishing Studio in Houston, TX. and now The Faux Retreat.

MissElaineous has consistently won 1st and 2nd place awards annually at the Cincinnati Homearama since 2002. Laine's work has been featured in numerous newspaper and magazine articles including "Housetrends" and was selected as a contributor in Designer Faux Finishing, the new book by Victor DiMasi.  Laine is also currently working on her first industry related book due out sometime in 2010.
